Ella’s Kitchen combines with US group Hain Celestial


On 2nd May, our client Ella’s Kitchen Group Limited, the multi-award winning British baby food business, announced its acquisition by The Hain Celestial Group Inc, a leading natural and organic consumer products company, and the owner of Earth’s Best, the pioneering US brand of organic baby food products with sales of over US$150m.

The combination of Ella’s Kitchen and Earth’s Best forms a new division, the global infant, toddler and kids division within the Hain Celestial family. Ella’s Kitchen Founder and CEO, Paul Lindley will become Chief Executive Officer of the new division.

Paul launched his business in 2006 with the aim of creating the next generation of baby and children’s food that would be healthy, handy and fun. The brand has been one of the fastest growing in all UK food, now commands a 19% share of the UK baby food market, leading positions in the Nordic area, a growing business in the US and overall is distributed in 13 countries. In the year ended June 2012 the company generated approximately £41m in sales.

Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
